October 15, 2021 - Decanted 60 minutes consumed over 2.5 hours. Dark black brambly fruit, dusty core, dried herbs and coffee. Fairly tannic and light on acids. Not my favorite of their portfolio but definite follows their style.
August 13, 2020 - Fantastic. In a delicious and interesting spot. Lots of peppercorn, dark fruit, good texture, and more.
April 18, 2020 - I couldn't quite make it 12 months, but sometimes you gotta say what the heck. Enjoyed this wine out of a Grassl 1855 stem. Very dark in color. Super savory on the mouth, and a nice peppery finish. Tannins were soft. Was ready to go right out of the bottle.
April 2, 2020 - Consumed over two nights. A little tannic up front this opened nicely and stayed nicely balanced over two evenings. Savory/gamey wine with loads of iron, clove, olive brine and dark fruits. Said before, say it again, one of over favorite domestic producers.
March 16, 2020 - Good as always, aging nicely at 10 years.
August 25, 2019 - Opaque dark violet color. Nose dark fruited, some chocolate, hints of vanilla spice; with time wild herbs.
Palate dark fruited, hint of chocolate. Nice acidity. A bit of earth. Some sappy intensity.
Could be more savory to me, seems a bit ripe/overly fruity however does reflect a new world terroir. 89 pts
July 15, 2019 - This was quite tannic at pop-n-pour. One trip through the aerator was good. Another 1 hour decant (in the bottle) was excellent. Just a well made wine. I have 1 more bottle and plan to wait for 12 months at least. Nicely made, good fruit, husky nose, a decidedly non-fruit bomb.
June 2, 2019 - The fruit still smack with a primary punch. But the cusp of maturity is here with some clove and olive like notes. Plenty of acid and light tannin. This was tasty and clearly has room to change. Pretty good now and didn't seemed closed in anyway.
March 6, 2019 - This bottle last night was awesome. It’s got enough acid and fruit with savories to suggest at least 7 more years. Beautiful.
