March 6, 2021 - Tasted after a top 2007 Stellenbosch, second or third wine 2006 Pauillac from a 1er estate and 2001 lower-tier GC St Emillion. The latter two seemed very chalky.
This is spicy yet mushroomy. I also get a hint of cork taint. Why is that I get such a high rate of cork taint from Figeac? It’s either amazing or it’s got questions about whether it’s corked. This is actually corked. Arghhhhh. I get it far too often with Figeac that’s its just annoying now. I’m super sensitive to cork taint so I wonder is that why it underperforms or wows for people generally. Annoyingly inconsistent.
Underneath there is lots of coffee and chocolate here but it just seemed corked :(
I Coravined another bottle. Much better. A bit cold because it was at the back of the Eurocave so to be expected but lovely mix of dry tannins and tea and rich spiciness. Subtle and reticent but you feel the potential. Lovely whisky-like spice and oak and vanilla to this now. Great. Other bottle was clearly corked!

September 27, 2020 - Mid weight, mid maturity. Red fruits, menthol on the nose. Sleek fruit, polished. Drinking very well. The epitome of balance. Three hour decant was best.

December 25, 2019 - Rather light in style.
    Lovely ripe black fruit.
    Integrated oak.
    Smooth rounded tannins.
Drinking well now but still has another few years ahead of it.
