December 26, 2017 - Of the 2012 vintage, the Parmelee Hill is my favorite Chardonnay. It’s bright with apple and asian pear, yet complex with baked apple pie spices that morph into creamy butter and toasted coconut. A much bigger wine than the Linden, but also a much more complex wine. 14.9% alc. With peanut soup, ham rolls and salad during PM, BB, PH’s stay over Christmas. Highly Recommended.

May 6, 2017 - Virtually unchanged from 2 years ago: the same color as a fresh picked, yet to be cleaned asian pear. In the glass it is absolutely stunning. The same apple, baked apple pie spices, asian pear as last time, but the butter seems to have fallen off a touch and delightfully replaced with toasted coconut. This is one delicious Parmalee Hills. 14.9% alc. With cheeses, molé and country ham while Rodney Young and I watch “The Winding Road” about the Carters and country music. Highly Recommended.

July 9, 2016 - Golden apple color, but a nose of butterscotch (but not overly so), golden apple on the attack, baking spices, celery, yeast and popcorn. The flavors track the nose with exactness. Long on the palate with clean, delivery and exit on a balanced frame. Stunningly good. 14.9% alc. (!) With stuffed pork chop (this time without too much salt) and the second time with grilled lobster tossed into lobster rolls. 07.06.16. and again 07.09.16. Recommended, leaning toward Highly Recommended.

September 25, 2015 - The color is the same as a fresh picked, yet to be cleaned asian pear. It’s yellow, but with a bit of a dark tinge to it. It’s beautiful in the glass. The nose explodes with apple, baked apple, baked apple pie spices, asian pear and butter. While much the same flavor, the palate is electrified with a near sensation of the “crunch” of biting into an apple. It’s a mouthfeel unlike most any other Chardonnay, but for possibly some of the prior Parmalee Hills. An amazing wine that pairs nearly perfectly with the French onion soup topped with Guyere and a side serving of country ham. 14.9% alc. and it shows with a touch of heat on the finish. Over time, this might just smooth out. Highly Recommended.

March 31, 2014 - Central Coast Trip; 3/30/2014-4/1/2014: Tasted at Loring/Cargasacchi tasting room. 100% New Oak, 50/50 American/French. Mushroom/earthy, minerally fruit; Lighter in style/color despite the high oak, well balanced acidity.
Lots of oak on palate. Overall this just wasn't that exciting of a chardonnay, especially at the price point.
