    February 28, 2021 - Still drinking well, showing lots of herbs and spices up front, and a bucket of blueberries in the middle and finish. Time to move that drinking window out.

    May 3, 2017 - Nearly black. Blueberry, leather, and spice nose. Medium bodied, with blackberries, greasy bacon, pepper, herbs, a fair amount of sediment, resinous tannins, tobacco, smoke, and a medium to long minty finish. It was a little off-putting on night 1, but was much better on the other nights.

    March 7, 2017 - Long legs, dark cherry and other dark fruit, black licorice, very slight bitter green pepper, and leather. Over a two day consumption, there was no difference. I felt that it wasn't as good as a recent 2011 Wellington Syrah that I tried and found to be excellent.

    November 23, 2016 - Hides the heat (15.2%) well. Big, bright, fruity, with some nice cocoa and pepper notes, and the meatiness others have described.

    November 29, 2015 - Nose is of dark fruits, leather/smoked meats. A little heat on the nose. Dark fruits and black pepper/tobacco leaf on the palate. Nice finish.

    August 20, 2015 - Clear and deep magenta. Rainforest, smoky meat, and blueberry nose. Medium bodied, intense plums, black pepper, blackberries, well integrated tannins, eucalyptus, leather, and a medium to long finish. Much better on day 2.
