June 1, 2020 - Leather, spice, complexity
October 1, 2016 - @Vinovativa tasting
April 11, 2016 - Nose: Smokey and dark berries,
Palate: Robust smokey meatiness, dark berries, vanilla and spice...
Good quaffer but for $33 down here in Oz it's a little steep compared to local Grenache...
April 12, 2015 - Enjoyed the fullness and complexity, with both fruit and spice. Paired well with a porktenderloin done with orange and Asian flavors.
February 22, 2015 - Bold, dark and smoky. A bit too much spice, acidity for me. Probably should have decanted for a few hours.
February 20, 2015 - This wine is best drank with a loooooong decant I've found or even the next day. I can't tell you the difference it made with my two bottles.
Still 88pt
February 19, 2015 - Nose: A straight forward nose of Blackberry, licorice and some smokey notes. Over time the nose becomes sweeter with some candied violet coming through too but the blackberry note remains dominating the bouquet.
Palate: The wine Caresses the palate with its nice silky texture but lacks a little acidity expected with 100% Garnacha for $14 retail. This is a sweeter wine but not too sweet. I tasted a lot of blackberry with notes of Licorice and some smoky mineral accents. The tannins are slightly drying but I wish they were more so, still it adds a nice touch of complexity.
Finish: A smooth silky finish of fruit its just not too heavy from start to finish and drinks well for %15 alcohol.
I'd say It's a good region in spain and its a Decent Garnacha for the money at $14 the QPR is good! I've had this a couple times and you know what your going to get its a good go too weekend Garnacha if you like the varietal.
February 13, 2015 - 80+ year old vines. liquored black fruit aromas. Smooth palate, a hint of tar. ripe fruit and a little structure too.
January 20, 2015 - A blunt instrument in wine terms but decent value for $12 usd. High alcohol at 15%.
December 26, 2014 - Dark berry fruits. Inky color. Medium bodied, off dry with silky finish. Very nice for the price.
