October 12, 2020 - Drink up!
May 24, 2020 - Decanted for about an hour. Threw off a minimal amount of sediment. Tannins seem pretty well integrated. A little dusty, but drinking well right now. I'd drink up.
April 20, 2020 - Consumed over 2 days. Nose is bright red fruit, graphite, dusty, tight. On the palate, it is a bit tight but opened up with air and time. Medium to full body, flavors of currant, other red fruits, very smooth and tannins just about fully integrated. Very nice with porterhouse steak. Solid 90, purchased on clearance for $40. Not bad for the price but would have been disappointed had I paid more.
December 27, 2018 - A nice wine. Red and dark fruits, oak, spice, a little licorice, mineral notes and some licorice. I do get the Italian influence (winery ownership) but a nice expression of Napa, too. Can drink now but probably better with time.
We had with Wagu steak leftovers - a perfect pairing!
I bought this on sale for $26 (750 ml) and it was a terrific buy at that price, for the "unloved" 2011 vintage.
December 9, 2018 - A beautiful wine that is drinking perfectly right now. I enjoyed this bottle tremendously. Bought it in 2014 when I finished the Tely 10 in St. Johns. Bravo!
November 29, 2018 - Past prime. Drink up!
November 23, 2018 - Nice Cab with balance of fruit, Oak and medium body. For me, better than the overly fruity Joseph Phelps, but not as good as Chateau Montelena. Solid, nice, but not spectacular.
November 9, 2018 - Drinks really well out of the bottle.
March 17, 2017 - PnP. Really expressive nose of leather, mushroom, olives, and licorice. Vevety texute, dusty tannins. Classy.
