December 18, 2021 - Deep and rich, and in early maturity. Citrus and cooked fruit nose, powerful palate impression, and a mineral and acid-driven finish. Will keep my other bottle for a bit to see where this goes, but it's very satisfying now.

December 8, 2021 - Straw to pale yellow, much lighter than a 2011 opened a few days before. The nose is also markedly different from the '11, with no sign of reduction and a much more classic set of aromas: lemon, apple, stone, some floral elements. The palate has depth and fullness without weight, and wonderful acidic lift, leading into a very solid finish. This vintage is still showing quite young, but it has all its elements in fine balance to age gracefully. I expect this to start showing new dimensions with another 3-4 years in the cellar.

November 5, 2021 - Maturing beautifully with citrus notes on the nose and layered palate with refreshing acidity and mineral notes on the long finish. Continues to drink beautifully!

(Rhys Chardonnay Horseshoe Vineyard) Final blend pre-bottling: hazy, light-medium lemon yellow color; reduction, tart apple, tart pear nose; rich mouthfeel, lightly oily textured, very tasty, lemon, lemon oil, mineral palate with medium acidity; medium-plus finish 92-94+ points
