June 17, 2020 - PnP, but this wine definitely benefits greatly from a 20 - 30 minute decant. Initially there's a touch of funk on the nose, but this dissipates in a couple of minutes. The color is a clear, very deep purple (hence, the `Noir'). The medium to plus bodied palate yields dark red fruit, some blue/black elements like prune and chocolate, lots of spice/pepper, a touch of tannin, and lots of acidity to tie it all together. This is not your usual Syrah, and in Joey Tensley's hands it becomes something "different". Should hold for several years.

November 5, 2019 - undrinkable. Tart and missing all Tensley syrah attributes. Perhaps flawed,e. but had similar problem with Thompson Vineyard Tensley of the same vintage i opened at the same time. Will allow my other 5 bottles to age in hopes they will improve

September 25, 2016 - Big, powerful nose of red and dark fruit. Thick, sweet and syrupy on the palate with a tangy aftertaste. I enjoyed other vintages of the Noir bottling much more. Decent wine but disappointing given my expectations. I have 2 more bottles and will hold them a while and hope for the best.

July 16, 2016 - Pretty crappy, really. Super expensive and thus especially disappointing. Nothing to see here, folks.
