January 27, 2024 - Two hour decant. Nose of mint, sage, and white pepper covering the dark cherry and black plum aromas. Powerful black fruit and tar palate with coal, iron, black earth, and black olive. Sweet blackberry and fluffy tannins on the finish with lemon time, cocoa, and fresh rosemary. Has come together nicely, though I could imagine the tannins developing further.

October 20, 2023 - JD Friday Wine Group - CAB Host (City Club FW - Wine Room): Tasted blind - Deep and dark in the glass, red fruit and black tea on the nose. Amazingly balanced on the palate, with the red fruit integrated with balanced tannins and baking spice. This wine is ready to go, and is drinking well now. Guessed a 2005 grenache heavy CDP.

April 13, 2023 - Round, rich, fruity, and complex with a long finish. Will likely age, but is ready now
The wine looks purple colored. It smells like blackberry and cinnamon. Flavor includes dark fruit, licorice, and tobacco hints. Long finish

January 24, 2023 - A well made wine - just not my thing.

A very rich nose. Vanilla, cinnamon, black fruits and a pinch of tobacco.

The palate echoes the nose. Vanilla, black cherry, blackberry, and cola. A dusting of cocoa and cinnamon and then the tobacco comes through on the back palate.

It’s a really decent wine, but it’s just too rich and sweet for me. For my palate it’s an 88 but objectively it’s more of 92-93 if you like that style. So to be fair a 91 overall.
