September 26, 2023 - This wine is still going strong in my opinion. Savory bell pepper and red fruit on the nose and palate. Well balanced with a slightly spicy and very long finish.
October 12, 2019 - Drank from magnum. This wine is in a great spot right now. Nose of dark red and black plum, black cherry, bell pepper and some toasty oak. Everything translates to the palate and the wine had that distinct cab franc profile but not overly green by any stretch, even in a lean vintage for Napa standards. Just the right amount of oak to give that smoothness and slightly spicy finish. Cab franc always has been my favorite wine from Ehlers so no surprises here.
November 13, 2018 - Drinking great. PnP.
September 23, 2017 - Decanted for 30 mins and was welcoming wine to our dinner party. Nose of green pepper burned off after decant opening to scent of dark chocolate. Dark fruit with pepper hints made it very enjoyable wine to start our evening
April 18, 2016 - Well made, straight forward example of Napa Cab Franc. Drinking very well, lovely with a grilled ribeye.
February 14, 2016 - Decanted for around 30 mins. Nose of green pepper, black cherry, black plum and bitter dark chocolate. Similar flavors on the palate with a nice balance of black fruit, toasty oak and the herbal, peppery flavors I look for in cab franc. Medium+ acid and tannins with a medium body, juicy mouthfeel and moderate finish. Drinking very well right now and paired perfectly with a sweet and savory spiced pasta dish.
August 1, 2015 - Decanted for 2.5 hrs. Great black cherry on the nose and palate with substantial tannins, but not overbearing. Awesome!
June 5, 2015 - Vinturi'ed & decanted for 2 hrs. Dark fruit nose. Soft on the tongue. Dark fruit tastes; consistent throughout the bottle.
February 5, 2015 - Much better after 2+ hours open
November 4, 2014 - Deep red. Nose_Hint of Licorice. Taste black berry with a hint of leather
