October 7, 2016 - A stand out wine at dinner that outshone all others (an '06 Barolo in the mix). Full and funky with leather notes, cherry, red berry, and lots of food friendly acidity. Tannins are well in the background.

July 19, 2009 - The Blind Drunks monthly tasting (Bistro Thai, Geneva, Illinois): Aromas of spice & tobacco leaf, along with red currants. Flavors of red and dark fruit, with savory herbal tones. Acid is notable on the finish...should have tipped me off to the origin.
