December 17, 2023 - Full bodied, complex, neither savory nor a clumsy version of modern, not quite peaking or fully integrated so drink with a decant or hold another few years.

December 8, 2023 - Luis goes to Kenwood II (The Kenwood): 30 minute decant, then back into the bottle for a few hours before drinking a good-sized glass over 1.5 hours. This seemed to have more structure than the 2009, some tannin and earth to round out ALL OF THE FRUIT, raspberry, blueberry, strawberry, name a berry and you'll probably find it in here. This is a tasty modern Napa cab that is showing well right now.

December 7, 2023 - Luis Tasting (The Kenwood): 30 min decant - Nose is more subdued and integrated than the 09 (likely because the 09 was PnP and this had a 30 min decant) Some earth notes to go with some awesome dark and red fruit! Palate showed nicely integrated red and black fruit, with some tar, graphite, earth and some sweet toasty oak. Full mouthfeel with smooth tannins. Much more fruit than tertiary flavors, but tertiary flavors were present and distinct. This is in a nice place! Solid 95 for my palate!

June 26, 2022 - Double decanted for 15 minutes and it was singing FAST.

This is one of the best wines we have had so far this year and possibly the most enjoyable Outpost to this day. Full body, massive attack of dark fruits, moca, minerals and tannins. Sensational mid palate and multidimensional with a long and heavenly finish.

April 14, 2022 - Guys Night - Anything Goes Blind!: Splash decant - served double blind (except the owner). I liked this wine more than others, but of all the group members, my palate enjoys hedonistic wines much more than the others, and this is a hedonistic wine! The wine was easily identified as new world and California. The vintage and producer were much harder to figure out. I thought it was still drinking remarkably young for a 12, and thought either 14 or 16 initially. I have only had outpost a couple times, so the producer was not identifiable for me, but I did enjoy the wine!

Palate was full of dark fruit and some earthiness and chocolate, with hints of leather. Tannins were round and smooth, and no detectable heat (which is heaven to me!). I really liked this wine, and it fit squarely in my wheelhouse! Easy 94+ to 95 for my palate!

April 14, 2022 - Guys night - Anything goes: Splash decanted. I lost my notes, I recall this being a modern Napa cab, nice fruit and earth. This is a bit less interesting than the 2014.

April 14, 2022 - Guy's Night: Anything Goes Double Blind (Jason P's, St. Paul, MN): Very dark red/purple color. Drank a glass plus double blind over 2 hours. Dense and full bodied, modern and bold, lots of black fruit, black currants, a little herbaceous, peppery, high toned, some wet earthy notes, round tannins. Tasty, drank like a bigger styled Napa Cab, which it was. 91+ to 92pts.
