July 23, 2022 - Très évolué. Nez de boîte de tabac assez marqué. Plus complexe en bouche. Vin à l'ancienne

April 10, 2018 - Color is slightly brown, showing signs of age. Not as over extracted as the Chante Merle can be but still slightly pushed. Soft and mellow Grenache with notes of plum and spices. Lacks structure. From ~80 yrs old Grenache vines. Should be doing better.

December 8, 2013 - Very advanced. Mature aromas of dried meats, old wood, faded red fruit. Angular on the palate. Better with food.

December 14, 2012 - Very nice, light red wine. Strong berry, acid. No tannins. Strawberry. Great choice for a party wine (office party). Four out of five stars.

January 18, 2012 - A slight acidity (suspect this might be past its prime).

(MON PERE CdP Bosquet) Mon Grand-Pere Dear Friends, If you are looking for aged Rhones, this wine is a terrific bargain and it is a peak through the looking glass to a time when Chateauneuf du Pape was a backwater region with little fanfare. The cut and paste Rhone sale continues with more reviews from Parker and Tanzer! On a more serious note, this homage to the family’s tradition and elder generation is one of the more sultry and silk-infused versions of Chateauneuf du Pape being produced. Already with 6-7 years of age, it is now entering its peak drinking window and should be decanted for at least 30 minutes prior to serving. Some wines from this region are like the blood of Grenache but this is like sailing on the wind of Grenache - flowing and luxurious with old-vine sap in reserve and a core of voluptuous, silken fruit that is just plain lovely: (Below are two completely opposite reviews but they are about the same wine. I included both of them as a lesson in wine-science - the same wine can taste completely different to very experienced palates. In its present state, the wine is actually a combination of both opinions - Parker has the essence of the wine closer at hand but it still presents a mouthfilling style with light white pepper and smoke elements noted by Tanzer. As always, reviews should be taken with a grain of salt as one man’s news is tomorrow’s fish and chips paper but everyone always asks for them do I include them when I can) HIGHLY RECOMMENDED as a wine of passion and effusive soul (we also have a terrific price) This wine is from an original cellar parcel perfectly stored since release: 2001 Bosquet des Papes Chateauneuf du Pape “a la Gloire de Mon Grand-Pere” Thank you, Jon Rimmerman Garagiste Seattle, WA Rhone5677
