July 12, 2020 - Tasty blackberry, gravel, earth, chocolate, full bodied liqueur richness.

July 11, 2020 - Voluptuous, rich, powerful, full-bodied, concentrated, lushly textured wine that delivers an ocean of ripe, black cherries, plums, blackberries, licorice, smoke, crushed stone and espresso on the nose and palate. No sensation of overripeness, heat, or jam, but the finish still shows oak as part of its character. This is a good time to be drinking this, if you have a bottle or two in your cellar. A brief 30 minute decant was all it needed.

May 20, 2018 - 2003 is a crazy vintage. Half of them are baked flabby messes, the other half are amazing. Luckily this is firmly in the latter camp. Ripe and rich, decadent chocolate and cherries. Just screams ripe merlot. But it stops short from being a goopy syrupy joke. It's soft and easy to quaff, but it's not devoid of structure. Will last. Great.

April 17, 2018 - What a lovely complement to a fantastic meal at Mirabelle in DC. This wine was singing out of the gate, with only 30 minutes in the decanter there was ample fresh berries, cinnamon, peppermint, coffee, and green herbs bursting out of the glass. There was nothing shy about this wine; in fact, I could see how tasters who prefer a subtle wine my be turned off by this big of a Bordeaux, but it paired ever so well with the richness of the food at Mirabelle.

(CHAT BELLEVUE MONDOTTE) #1; COLOR-very dark; NOSE-shot of Christmas, peppermint & egg nog, black cherry & raspberry; TASTE-tremendous tannins, enormous amount of fruit (classic crushed raspberry & blueberry soup), enormous silkiness on the finish, no heat, peppermint/ginger flavor, leather & cow manure on the mid-palate to the finish, profound Bordeaux; RP-98; GV-95+
