August 6, 2020 - Drank from Bin South 19 for Liz’s birthday. Spice nose with oak and blackberry. Dark purple. Burst of tannins then vanilla oak and hint of cherry on finish. 6/10.
December 29, 2019 - Blackberry. Needed about 40 minutes to open
November 20, 2018 - Expectations were too high, perhaps. Good, but not showing much.
January 30, 2017 - Drinking well but lacking a lot of complexity I have been seeing in recent 2012 CV Syrah from other wineries. Pleasant and drinking ok now but would wait a few years for the next bottle.
December 20, 2016 - Spicy and smooth
December 12, 2016 - I had this after dinner on 12/12/16. It had an elegant, harmonious bouquet of blackberry, blueberry, plum, cocoa, black olive, licorice and spice aromas. The palate was silky smooth and completely integrated with flavors of blackberry, blueberry, plum, black olive, cocoa, mocha, licorice, pepper and spice…very suave, but a tiny bit short on verve! 91+
October 14, 2016 - Nose: smoke, pepper, licorice, dark fruit,
Taste: really needed 1 hour to open up, became balanced with dark fruit, pepper and hint of black olive.
September 8, 2016 - Very smooth, plum, smoke, cedar
February 12, 2016 - My wife and I tasted this at the carriage house tasting room on 2/12/16. It had a deep, elegant bouquet of violet, blackberry, plum, black cherry, black olive, pepper and spice aromas. The palate was smooth and nicely integrated with flavors of blackberry, plum, black olives, pepper and spice.
November 12, 2015 - Good solid Syrah with deep burgundy color and a nose of fruit and chocolate. Great with dessert.
