February 24, 2019 - To second MerryBerry, this wine is in a good place now. After an afternoon of shoveling snow and battling ice-dams, my wife prepared a delicious entree of tomato pasta and meatballs. My contribution was to choose a good wine. I picked this Barbera blend over other traditional pairings as I thought it would stand up to the meatballs.
The wine was delicious- great nose, bright fruit on the palate and good finish. Pleased that I have several bottles left. They may be gone by April 1st!
July 24, 2018 - Similar to last time, but better. Mature red fruit, spices, and a nice finish. It's in a good place right now. Delicious.
October 3, 2017 - Spicy berry notes, lots of them. Food (and budget) friendly.
March 25, 2017 - Still just a solid, very enjoyable wine. Rich, spicy nose, wonderful mouthfeel.
December 22, 2016 - See previous notes. Very much enjoyed by a group, but a wine serious enough for a collector/connoisseur. 90+ pts.
November 5, 2016 - Such an easy drinking and enjoyable wine. Loved by casual wine drinkers and those more serious about wine. Scott loves making Barbera more than anything else, and it shows. Terrific. 90-91 pts.
October 7, 2016 - It was excellent; this may be the peak time to drink it. It was one of those nights. Open the bottle, pour it into 2 glasses and enjoy. My wife looked a little dreary. I thought she might doze off, which is a good thing. She gets a well deserved rest, and I can swoop in and finish her wine. However, being the trooper she is, she rallied. I'm sure she enjoyed her wine as much as I would have, probably.
April 23, 2016 - Nice Amador fruit from Scott, if a bit hot at PnP; better the second day. I'll give them another year+ for the next and many to follow.
March 31, 2016 - Seemed like it had a little too much heat, even two days after opening. That's why I gave it an 87. Would expect more balance from Scott's wine. Other than that, it had nice spicy fruit!!! Maybe the heat and spice was playing tricks on my taste buds. Anyway, looks like I have 8 more to drink so we'll see how this one improves over time.
March 23, 2016 - Good solid wine. We were snacking on good bread and olive oil. This bright Barbera was an excellent pairing.
