May 4, 2018 - Another solid bottle. Good peppery cab franc blend, but with the balance of the merlot. Nice wine.

May 21, 2016 - Nice wine. Good fruit, but not overbearing. Would buy again

July 31, 2015 - On first opening, it was all meaty, beaty, big and bouncy, and more than a little stinky. I gave it a day, vacu-vined on the counter, and on nights 2 and 3 it was completely different and very much improved. Slightly cloudy dark crimson, the nose was sweet blueberry, oak, and fresh earth. Medium to full bodied, plums, blackberries, black cherries, well integrated tannins, tobacco, good acid, and a long chocolaty finish. A great value.

September 12, 2014 - I just like this. Thrilled that this is a cab franc forward wine with all of the accompanying pepper and fruit. Solid.

August 26, 2014 - Very approachable after about an hour, not too heavy on the fruit, a little jammy and oaky

May 26, 2014 - Very well done cab franc blend. The merlot adds some soft fruit that tempers the herbal, veggy cab franc.

March 30, 2014 - Didn't take notes but was fine for the price. Actually have had much worse.

March 29, 2014 - Some plum, earth, and a hint of vegetal character. Smooth and medium bodied. Had a finish with a bunch of oak and something almost syrupy. Not my favourite - good as a bottle for later in the night but was hoping for more from this one.

    March 13, 2014 - Fjellene 2009 Eastern approach (60 CF 40 ME)

Simpler and cleaner than I had hoped. A clear, bright, accessible red with the barest hint of tannin. Just a touch of the green cab franc among cranberry and blackberry. The palate is full without being particularly concentrated. There is a hint of spice but not enough to make it fabulously interesting.

I'm ok with the $15 price tag. It isn't horribly commercial but it isn't a steal at this level. I'd take a BV Napa ($22) any day.
