December 22, 2023 - One of my favourite ones to age and always comes up great.
November 14, 2023 - Eucalyptus/menthol, blackcurrant, subtle chocolate and vanilla. Ripe fruit but still cool Cab in style, no jamminess. Drinking beautifully with softness but tannic grip.
Quite classic South Australian Cabernet, I suspect dominated by Coonawarra. Punches above its weight given this is maybe a third of the price of 407. No rush at all to drink these.
August 7, 2021 - Soft tannins and nice fruit. Hint of vanilla. Enjoyed it
April 25, 2021 - Drinks ok, nothing special. Tastes like a cab with high acidity, more than I recall when it was young.
November 29, 2020 - Blackcurrant and bold notes overpower the experience and quite simply... It was a bit rough!
Malaysia, Nov 2020
June 11, 2020 - Peak drinking 2025
February 2, 2020 - This is really settling down now. Very enjoyable wine. Tannins are almost entirely integrated in a more velvety mouthfeel. The fruit is very present, but in a calmer way, with some secondary notes. Cassis and dark berries clearly there. A wine that has clearly benefited from cellaring and, I suspect, nearing the peak of the drinking window within a year or two. A balanced wine that carries the 14.5% effortlessly. Pop open and try a bottle if you’re lucky enough to have one of these 2012 bottles in the cellar!
Note added day 2: still a bit better next day, but not by much, so still thinking a year or two from peak.
September 8, 2019 - Maybe a little young, but rich
August 30, 2019 - Almost black colour but with a purple tinge. Aroma of licorce and pepper, light oak. Strong Plum, blackberry, light spice. Tannin is powdering and persistent. Acidity is on the high side. Nice flavour but a bit astringent. Still has room for improvement, the tannin needs to settle down.
July 19, 2019 - 1st vintage of the only 4 (2012~2015). Not strong, but balanced. Extra value and worth every penny. Keep or drink? Pour a glass first and decide later.
