January 23, 2024 - This is a well made wine but I don’t like the blend. To be the cab is pushed far to red right fruit from the Syrah leaving a lean midpalate that gets crushed by blue preserve-like fruit from the cab franc. I will avoid such blends from Ovid in the future.

January 9, 2019 - I rated my first bottle 93 in 2015, although I think this was probably even better? 1st bottle I noted the ovid cab flavors, this time I first thought the smoky, meaty Syrah (29%) Anyway, it was wonderful, balance, smooth, in it's prime.

October 20, 2018 - Opaque. Red fruits, plum and cool feel on the nose. Add violets and tar on the palate. Good acidity. Vivid and food friendly wine which doesn’t lack depth. Stellar really.
