November 3, 2018 - Popped & poured at a birthday dinner in Charlotte NC at Bernardin's with birthday girl Ray McKinnon and fellow wine lovers John & Malinda Chamberlain who very graciously provided this excellent pinot. Would recomend an hour decant. Mature and in a very good drinking window - no further upside to additional cellaring, would recommend drinking now and anticipate at least another 2-3 years at this level with appropriate cellaring. Dark ruby with no physical signs of aging. The nose has one of the most complex and beautiful bouquets I have ever come across - the medical peeps reading this review will understand when I say that when I am hospitalized and on oxygen THIS is what I want humidifying the O2 circuit, just a melangue of aromatic goodness. Well balanced, full bodied, subtle acid and tannins, minimal oak present and on the palate cherry, raspberry and cooking spices dominate. Just an excellent archetypical high end OR Wllamette Valley pinot - highly recomend this wine.

November 11, 2017 - Eighteen months on since the first of these and I can note some pleasing development. I noted then a muted nose but now not so at all. This is a robust wine from one of the many recent vintages of the decade. Sparkling ruby color with a voluptuous slightly spicy floral aroma. Not lacking for body it is full of dark cherry, moderate acidity, some baking spices - cinnamon/nutmeg - lingering. One could return over and over. Pretty optimal at this point I would say. I did note a precipitous decline on day two so recommend finishing at first sitting.

May 15, 2016 - Have so far consumed relatively few '12s although tasted many in various locales. Sparkling ruby color but somewhat limited in the nose - not the usual ebullient, barnyard effusiveness we associate with WR. Perhaps it is the warmer vintage and the comparative youth. Pretty solid on the palate, well balanced, dark cherry, grip, some earthiness, minerality; somewhat one-dimensional relative to others from their stable.

August 19, 2015 - Nice bottle of 2012 Oregon Pinot. Subtle red fruit with underlying notes of black cherry/blackberrry. Subtle and lighter bodied with smooth elegant finish.
