April 5, 2024 - Var usikker på denne i begynnelsen, men viste seg å lukte fint av jord og lær samt noe plommer. Smaken noe nedtonet mørk kaffe, lærete og tjære.

October 28, 2013 - Worth the wait. Great on opening but even better following night. Dark rich color and cassis flavor, earthy

October 7, 2013 - Consistent with last years note, still has a high concentration and rustic structure, tanins need more time to mellow down, many years left in this.
Note, I dont think this is the Alpha series, but this must be antecesor to the Montes Alpha M premium series.

August 23, 2012 - This is one of the last 6 btls of an 12 case batch that I bartered for back in 2001. First btl Drunk since the wine opened up, all others where totally shut down, rustic & agressively tánnic, unpleasent even after 4-5 hrs decanting. Today it is lovely!! Dark ruby w/ bricked ring.
The legs are Slow. It smells like Black currant (cassis), Blackberry, Forest floor, Mushroom, Cedar, and Oak. It tastes like Blueberry, Black currant (cassis), Fig, Plum, Mushroom, Forest floor, Coffee, Medium Toast, Oak, Lavender, leather and Tobacco. The body is Full. The wine has Round, silky texture. The wine finishes Long. Id' say it just starter its dcescending cicle, a very enjoyable wine. I'll try the next one next year.

February 11, 2006 - Lovely - went very well with a grilled T-bone after skiing - nicely mature - resolved nose - very soft currant and dark cherry, palate more of the same, very soft, no tannin, little acidty, still had enough bite to go with food, nice currant and cherry flavour. Good finish, this went down very easily.

February 1, 2005 - Bought from Costco a few years back for $13 and decided to age a couple of bottles. This is a very tasty wine. Still full of fruit. Deep, plummy purple colour, brick tinged rim. Blackcurrant, blackberry nose is still a little jammy but full of fruit and starting to develop some interesting secondary aromas - tinge of mint, smoke. Palate is deep and tasty, with soft tannins, juicy currant and blackberry fruit. No danger of dying anytime soon although well past WS's drink by date of 2003!
