September 20, 2019 - PNP, this is the 10th bottle tasted, very rich, not as sweet as some of the previous bottles, low complexity, still some tannins to integrate, the fruit was a bit muted allowing secondary notes to shine, I would drink this sooner than later. Before the fruit is history, for me five bottles left.

August 23, 2019 - This 2012 Papillon is in a much nicer spot/better made then the other vintages I have tasted. I had several 2013's that I recently drank and I really did not like them - they where disjointed alcoholic messes. This 2012 is a little different. It has a pleasant nose of dark fruits and some tertiary characteristics peeking through. The palate is much more focused, tighter, it holds itself together better.

There is rich dark fruits, velvety tannins that are in a nice spot, and a decent finish with pretty good complexity for the price point. Would I buy it again? No, however, it is remarkable better then the 2013.

April 27, 2019 - I've been drinking the 2012 vintage now for a few years and I am sadly running low. With a beautiful floral bouquet, this wine opens wonderfully with an hour decant. It is deep and rich on the nose, a truly soft, but full bodied first impression. On the palate, it is soft and fruity, mild tannins. We paired this Papillon with a 2003 Husic Cab. The Papillon is moderately more acidic, but not in a bad way. It has a bolder flavor palate and is an exceptional wine. It is nearing its peak, however, so please drink it up. Time to find the next Papillon to stock up on.

January 20, 2019 - Decanted and tasted, nice Napa fruit but not over the top, balanced, smooth medium finish.
