November 17, 2016 - The nose is an ethereal load of sweet fruit and spice with a pinch of spearmint. The palate was so vibrant and pure. Loads of acidity to carry the wine through on the palate and it was at that perfect stage where it hadn't yet turned sweet but had compelling savory elements to it. Surprisingly weightless. Gorgeous wine, what a treat to try.

November 22, 2015 - A bottling labeled "Cuvée Jeunes Vignes", which I never knew even existed. Thanks, Suzanne - this is indeed a rarity. A bit quiet at first, but slowly this emerges with air; an array of fresh red fruits and olives, leather, earth, floral and spicy notes, and other mature savoury elements all coming together seamlessly on a lightweight frame. The tannins seem fully resolved (more so than in the Gachon alongside), but there's plenty of acidity here bringing structure and keeping the fruit fresh.

November 10, 2010 - I think this might be the first vintage of Allemand's sublime cornas commercially sold in the UK. Only one cuvee until 1991. This was delicious, black fruit, spice and a little pepper on the nose, maybe a hint of mint. Rich slightly creamy inn the mouth, smooth fruit, well balanced. Still a delight to drink.

November 8, 2010 - Cornas (28-50, London): Bright ruby. Really vibrant. Lovely nose, more burgundian than cornas. Surprisingly fat and leggy in the glass. Again, quite burgundian palate though more acidity and alcohol than burg. Seems to be getting more acidic. Doesn't quite live up to th einitial premise of the nose. ***

July 29, 2010 - Still drinking well, pure precise fruit, very smooth, and intense concentration of fruit. Wow a very pleasant surprise

February 23, 2006 - Served with bacon- nice match. Color was that of a 2002- deep purple to the rim. Nose was classic Syrah with bacon, cola and rich ripe dark black raspberries. The palate is complete- great structure, good mid-palate punch and a lovely long finish with some real elegance to it. Terrific wine- as near as I can tell this was before he began to separate our single vineyards- be curious to know for sure.
