September 16, 2023 - Decided to give one of these a go last night as I just have two left. A group of six of us finished this pretty quickly over dinner and I didn't take notes but what I did recall was a wine that didn't seem to be aging all that quickly meaning there was a lack of aged quality and a lack of sediment as well. It was a bit dark inside in the restaurant but the color didn't seem to be faded all that much either. My point is that the wine seems to be moving along in its life cycle very well.

October 13, 2022 - Delicious. Dark cherries and flowers on the open, with notes of earth, some wood, and herbs on the back end. Built in a more elegant style that lets the fruit shine. 12.3% ABV.

September 11, 2022 - Late Birthday BYO: Blind. Behagelig, avdempet, ikke noen uttralt struktur, litt uklar. Gaske stum egentlig, i begynnelsen. Svak røyk, saftig, blåbær.

July 10, 2022 - Kutch Verticals--Trout Gulch, McDougall and Falstaff: Vertical (non-blind) of McDougall, 2010 -2021. We did not taste the 2011 (no one owned it) nor 2014 and 2018 (stupid COVID forced the owners to have to miss the tasting) and the 2021 was a tank sample that Jamie pulled for us and shipped down for the tasting (being bottled next week so it's the final composition). Last had two years ago and I would say the wine is still moving along the same flavor lines, perhaps now showing some of the tones of age since that time. Dark plum, snappy berry with a tangy edge. There is some creamy red berry still here but the cedar and age is beginning to overtake it. Spicy cinnamon and some influence of stems in the finish, both that help create length.

June 24, 2022 - Medium to light, starting to brick at the rim. Some evolution on the nose, clove spice, soft smoke, well balanced, just about ripe, cherry fruit. Good fresh finish. Im enjoying this a lot, it could develop and improve more. 12.3%

June 24, 2021 - After my last bottle was flawed, I was hoping for better. My last bottle and it did not disappoint. Beautiful nose with cherry, raspberry, spice, herb and cedar. Layers of flavor with tart cherry, raspberry, spice, herb, some stems and a touch of oak. Nicely balanced with good acidity. Long smooth finish. Still has many years ahead of it.

April 18, 2021 - Beautiful tart raspberry, cherry juice, rhubarb and sappy pinot flavors. Not over extracted at all, but showing dark fruit throughout and hints of secondary notes. This is just getting going.

    Wonderful with smoked duck breasts.
