October 26, 2023 - This, my final bottle, was fantastic. Silky and plush with fruit, but showing its age in a good way. No longer youthful exuberance, this was mature and integrated. Rocks notes were there, but finding them to be supportive of the maturing notes that are showing.

February 19, 2023 - Open in the bottle for about an hour or so. Nose is a bit shy, not as explosive as I expect from the rocks district, but really lush and ripe and concentrated with dusty leather and lava rocks. Palate is smooth and sexy, black cherries, plums, hint of licorice, savory herbs, all very well integrated. Really beautiful, totally in the zone right now, paired perfectly with filet mignon and roasted potatoes. A serious wine that goes down easy. Wish I had more!

October 30, 2021 - PnP. “Fine” on initial pour, this found its stride around the one hour mark. Grenache definitely running the show, with a fine supporting cast providing some structure. Fruit is still quite prominent, with tertiary notes yet to develop. Quite tasty.

July 20, 2021 - Gave a 30 minute decant but was better at an hour.
V - Clear, mixture of ruby and garnet, certainly garnet at the edges of the significant meniscus.
N - Raspberry, blueberry and a bit of plum. Slight smoke, rose and licorice.
P - A bit jammy with raspberry and black currant. Tobacco, smoke and rose mid palate with a Med+ finish. Alcohol hiding the complexity a bit.

    May 1, 2021 - Method: blind; 60 degrees; Grassl 1855

Look: medium+ garnet; high+ number of legs medium speed legs

Nose: blueberry, cola, vanilla, dry herbs, baking spice

Palate: blackberry, raspberry, pepper, spicy oak, cola, vanilla, licorice, baking spice; medium finish of pepper, dried oregano, dried bay leaf, cinnamon, black tea; dry; medium body; medium+ acidity: low+ tannin

Overall thoughts: Fairly primary and a lot of notes from new oak, but tasty. I'd like if the oak integrated a bit more. Very good wine.

December 19, 2020 - Two hour decant. Deep ruby magenta color. Ripe black cherry, thyme, and walnut on the nose. Smooth, dry, modestly creamy palate, with soft acidity. Firm, full tannins on the medium long finish. 65% Grenache, 25% Mourvèdre, and 10% Syrah

December 6, 2020 - My last bottle and alas I discovered I drank the others way to young. This would easily hold it own in a blind CDP tasting.

September 5, 2020 - Big fruit, tangy, spicy and some white pepper on finish. Barnyard nose blew off in 30 minutes. Paired well with fig prosciutto pizza.
