    April 4, 2018 - Beef+duck session at Tim''s. Tasted blind.
Appearance is clear, deep intensity, garnet colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of raisins, dried plums, licorice, chocolate oak. Developing.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, high alcohol (16%), fine high tannins, full body. Pronounced flavour intensity, with flavours of dried raisins, dried red plums, black cherries, black licorice, dark chocolate, sweet tea leaves. Long finish.
Very good quality. Good structure. Approachable despite the high alcohol. I was guessing a nice 5+ year old Ripasso becasue of that. I suppose this Amarone is still at a very early stage. Give this another 4-5 years to develop more. Conservative score for now.
The Monte Olmi vineyard is located at Pedemonte di Valpolicella in the heart of Valpolicella Classica and has a south-western exposure.
30% Corvina, 30% Corvinone, 30% Rondinella, 10% Rossignola, Oseleta, Negrara, Dindarella, Croatina and Forselina.
