    July 8, 2019 - Drinking nicely, and becoming more approachable. This wine is super food friendly with its commanding acidity. Drank alongside a '13 bv tapestry, which narrowly edged this out. Both are great expressions of their varietals for the price point ($30-40).

    March 24, 2019 - From 375ml. Supple Barolo, drinking quite nicely already. Hits the tar, violet and earth notes...

    January 27, 2019 - Toscana veterans reunion: pale ruby
    med- aromas intensity of dry plums and cherries;
    developing
    dry, med+macidity, med+ tannins, high a.b.v., med+ body; med+ length finish, med flavours intensity consistent with the nose - but stronger than the nose. lack complexity and fruitiness
    can drink now - suitable for further ageing.

    January 27, 2019 - Drinking very well and worth opening now or saving for another 20 years if you wish!

    This nebbiolo is instantly pleasant on the nose. Not aromatically intense, I acknowledge a subtle, elegant and charming character with intriguing complexities and nuances. There is fruit, beautiful black cherry, dried and stewed dark currants, but it is guarded by notes of wilted roses, peeled cucumber skin, foilage and tawny port with a whisper of oak.

    The intensity in this wine comes from its acidity, tannin and alcohol, not from the weight or flavour as such. On the palate the wine is medium bodied and full of cleansing acidity. Flavours of cherry, blackcurrant, liquorice and tar roll over the tongue leaving a long dry and perfumed finish.

    I recommend with lamb and red wine jus!
