March 10, 2019 - One of 4 magnums that I had with my wine group. All were opened, but not decanted, for at least 45 minutes before pouring. We had, in order, the 2015 Xavier Arcane XV Le Diable, 2015 Domaine Cabirau Maury Sec First Things First, 2012 Ramey Syrah Rodgers Creek, and the 2015 Sebastiani Gravel Bed Red.

My last of a group of 6 magnums that I purchased. Always a group favorite.

October 26, 2018 - Aromas of violets and faint eucalyptus. Dark garnet in the glass. Round mouthfeel with a long finish. Flavors of black cherry and kirsch. Great QPR.

May 27, 2018 - From a magnum with my wine group. We had this alongside a 2011 Saxum Paderewski (also from a magnum). For, me, this was the better wine. Fruit forward, and a real crowd pleaser. Notes of crème de cassis and blackberry, but no one in the group could pick out the "hot rocks" that the WA review mentioned!

November 3, 2017 - As noted in a previous review. this is a very fruit forward wine composed of Cabernet Sauvignon (64%), Merlot (21%), Zinfandel (11%), Malbec (2%), and 1% each of Petite Verdot and Petit Sirah. While it has balanced acidity, the tannins are very soft and not noticeable. Full mouth feel, mid-range of cassis and fruit, and a good length. The zinfandel is noticeable but not over whelming, just a touch unusual. This wine has improved over the past 3 years, but I am not yet sure how long it will keep; certainly over the next 5 years or so.
