January 8, 2020 - I can totally see why Chateau Montelena won the Judgement of Paris with their chardonnay by this bottle. The nose was filled with green apple pie, baked peach cobbler, lemon zest, and hints of vanilla. Really easy drinking, very flavorful, perfect acidity, and nice finish. The palate is rich and so easy to just have another sip because it is that delicious.

This feels more like a grand cru white burgundy and certainly drinks like one. This wine is now 8 years old - but still feels and drink like it was just made yesterday, lots of vibrancy and energy still. This I feel is just entering its prime drinking window and will have many more years to go.

    Bravo Chateau Montelena!

December 31, 2019 - New Years Eve (Rocknroller's (Kevin & Vicki's Place)): Light gold color. Drank a glass over an hour. Hadn't had this for a little over 2 years. This was even better than where it was then. In fact, I'd say we're probably at peak right now, but I'm seeing no need to drink these anytime soon. This was so graceful and sublime tonight, drinking like a pristine Chassagne-Montrachet. Pear, melon, florals, light sea air on the nose. The palate is full of lemon, pear, tart with loads of dry extract - like licking a dry stone; spicy, balanced and filled with fresh sea minerals and pear gelee. 93+ to 94pts.

April 15, 2019 - Old World from the New World (Amy & Scott's): This wine resembled a grand cru Chablis or a white burgundy. There is some French oak, and it lends support instead of dominating. Golden yellow fruit, lemon, spice, minerality is evident. Why don't I buy this more often?

April 4, 2019 - Exquisite burgundian style chard. Initially chablis like but burgundian qualities exude with time.
