August 14, 2019 - It's good... and for $15 it's great. With a bit of age already, it's definitely ready for business.

July 13, 2019 - Taste Italy (San Diego Wine Co.): "100% Negroamaro from a single plot of 25 ha with an ave vine age of 30 yrs @ 100 m elev with 70-90 tons/ha ave production. The soils are shallow, rocky, & iron-rich. The grapes are picked quickly (over the course of 3 hrss), & are brought into the winery where they are de-stemmed, crushed, & transferred to s/s vats with temp control. Alcoholic fermentation & maceration lasts for 15-20 days, ff'd by a racking & natural malolactic fermentation. The wine ages in concrete tanks for 24 mos, followed by 6 mos in 2nd, 3rd, & 4th use barriques before bottling."

N: Slightly closed; Smoke & earth atop ripe berries

P: Med, poss MF, body; RNDISH entry with NICE, almost swtish frt met by an astringent pucker which QUITE loses its bite by the LONG, balanced finish with hints of swtness to the dusty tannins, & POSS *hints* of an incipient quasi-bitter flatness? For now & through '20. 14.5% ABV; My VG+. 89 ps ea Vinous (D'Agata) & WE @ $18. [This vendor's $14.99 puts it @ the bottom of wine-searcher's TOP quartile.]

April 29, 2019 - Fullbodied and almost voluptuous, decent length. Polished and modern but seriously made.
No real change on day two with the remaining half bottle.
Very good value. Drink now or Keep it for another 4-6 years.
