May 23, 2017 - bright red fruit with dried meat leather coffee ground and mocha tertiary development. at the height of maturity but not in danger of dying soon.

January 22, 2014 - Still held together nicely. Very nice wine for its age.
The wine looks ruby colored to light brick. The legs are medium. There is moderate sediment in the bottle. It smells like dust. The body is light/medium. The wine has leathery texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity.

February 23, 2013 - The nose is musky and also a bit bretty. Leather and raspberry on the palate. Good acidity gives lift through the finish, which starts with an herbal note and turns again to sweaty saddle. This is interesting, it has energy, good length and intensity, and its flavors are off the beaten path. All of those things are to its credit; but in the end it lacks the balance of a truly complete wine. I like it, will take it over a pleasant, routine wine every time, but I like it with reservation.
