Community Tasting Notes 18

November 17, 2022 - 100% Cabernet and aged 18 months in 64% new French oak.
    Decanted showing minimal fine sediment.
Aromas show well integrated notes of cassis, dark cherry and plum that come with notes of herbs, desiccated violets and hints of cocoa, pepper, scorched earth and cedar. A touch of heat is perceptible as well.
The palate shows its ABV from start through the finish. Tannins are soft and resolved while the acids are quite high. Flavors mimic the nose with notes of cherry and cassis laced with herbs, cedar, spice and barrel accents with traces of florals, cocoa and earth. The warm finish lingers.

Good, just expected a little more

September 5, 2022 - Well, it didn't suck. Low expectations due to 2009, 2010, and 2011 versions. Unlike those three, it wasn't "muddy". Decent dark fruits. Decent structure. More-than-decent balance. Nothing remarkable, but at least it didn't make me regret buying them. Probably good for several more years.

December 17, 2021 - Tannins are completely resolved. Good fruit flavor, but it seems shallow. There’s less complexity to the wine. Probably at or near the end of its drinking window.

December 6, 2021 - Drinking very well now!

October 29, 2021 - Very soft and simple. Starting to fade, somehow. Drink up.
