October 28, 2015 - Reduced smell of pickled herring jar with oily notes reminiscent to Montilla-Moriles.
With a little patience and oxygenating that reducing smell almost disappears remaining olive oil and popping notes of citrus peel and nuts. A flawed bottle anyway, that's my point of view.
The palate is very refreshing, along with some delicious acidity and a bitter aftertaste.
¿ Replace freshness for complexity? Not once ... Occasionally these things happen.

September 13, 2015 - Still good to drink, not at all over the hill yet. A really enjoyable fino and a definite step up from the regular bottling. If you can get it, buy it and drink it.

June 9, 2015 - For those who consider the freshness as top. Evolution could not better sit on this bottle.
Oxidation is elegant additionally with notes of nuts on the nose.
Very long, glycerine and really tasty.
Perfect to accompany a tapa of battered cod.

La evolución no ha podido sentarle mejor a esta botella.
Elegante oxidación con notas a frutos secos en nariz.
    Muy larga, glicérica y sabrosa.
Perfecta acompañando una tapa de bacalao rebozado.

December 5, 2014 - What a great Fino. I am not the biggest fan of Tio Pepe, which I typically find too nutty and a bit masculine for my taste. But this Fino en Rama from a saca in 2014 is totally built on green apple, raw almonds, and has a lot of character without being too heavy. A great QPR, btw. Actually, it is a steal at the current retail price.

October 16, 2014 - The wine is clear and bright with a medium lemon colour and presence of legs. The nose is clean and fully developed, showing pronounced intensity aromas of yellow apple, green olives, neutral yeast, almonds and acetaldehyde. The wine is dry in the mouth with a low acidity. It has low soft tannins and a low alcohol (for a fortified wine). It has a medium body and pronounced intensity flavours of yellow apple, green olives, neutral yeast and almonds. The finish is long.

It is an outstanding quality wine. It has a lingering finish and a great flavour concentration. It shows a very decent complexity for this style of wine and the clear typicity of a Fino Sherry. Drink in the same year of bottling, the wine is already fully developed and this style does not age well.
