June 10, 2019 - Not my favorite but drinkable after opening a bit. Odd cabernet.

August 25, 2017 - Would never seek this one out. Very unbalanced. Vegetal and bitter. Two tastes of it gave me a stomach ache. No one else liked it and I ended up opening something else

March 25, 2017 - 4th Saturday Group brown bagger (R&D's): Double blind. Deep opaque color. Aromas of blue fruit, blackberry, spice, vanilla and underbrush. Fairly tannic, with black fruit and earth and clay flavors in the finish. Guessed CA cab sauv blend.

I came back to this a couple of hours later with dinner and it had taken on a decidedly sour overtone. During the tasting this was my favorite of the flight- not sure what that says about where this is heading.

August 27, 2016 - On the nose it smells like deep plum and pepper. At first taste, it is black cherry and pepper, with mouthwatering acidity. We had this with a NY strip steak, roasted potatoes, and a cool cucumber and sour cream salad. The acidity of the wine cut through the fat in our meal and complemented everything beautifully. There is a pleasing, woody bitterness to the after taste that went well with our meal. We didn't expect much from this wine but it pleasantly surprised us! Perfect to drink now in 2016.

April 23, 2016 - Love SBM, but this wine is not a standout. Off-kilter. Really high acidity, even with dinner. Really nice wine underneath (tar, oak, earth, and stone with black cherries), but in the end the acid dominates (esp at the end of the palette). Maybe some more time in the cellar would help.
