April 15, 2017 - Opened and enjoyed over 2hours. Dark red in color, upon opening the nose was muted. Palate was sweet dark fruits, good grip and minerality. After decanting for an hour the earthy and meatiness of the Syrah came out and by the end of the night it had given way to chocolate and fresh ground roasted coffee. Delicious! Sad that I only have one bottle of this vintage left.

February 2, 2017 - Subtle on the nose, with herbal notes with blackberry jam. Light acidity, smooth tannins, ready to drink. Dark purple in the glass. Medium finish. Drinking very nicely. This wine has a long way to go.

November 6, 2016 - Similar impressions as my notes from May 2015. Drinking so well currently.

September 3, 2016 - Decanted for an hour, nose of earth, roasted meat and pepper. Still a youngster, but a solid drink now. Coats your mouth with a long creamy finish. I think patience will be well rewarded in a few years.

Washington Wine Report

  • By Sean Sullivan
    12/5/2013 (link) **** points

(Corliss Estates Syrah Columbia Valley) Somewhat stylistically distinct from previous vintages with the Viognier really popping at present with orange peel, peach, and floral notes followed by showy dark fruit. The palate is silky and rich with a velvety texture on this opulent, expressive wine. Aged 30 months in French oak (60% new). 308 cases produced.
