April 19, 2024 - Drink now. Color is good. Tannins have smoothed out. Nice berry fruit. Tertiary flavors are present.
January 15, 2023 - From our cellar. Decanted. Extremely dark purple-burgundy in color. Aromas of plum and violets. Full bodied, super dense and concentrated flavors of dark cherry, blackberries, plums, earthy spices, tobacco, vanilla, oak. Tannins refined. Good acidity. Nice structure and balance. 14% alcohol. Excellent now but still seems to have plenty of life left.
January 10, 2022 - Full and rich garnet colour w amazing hints of deep berry, leathery tobacco, almond, mushroom, black currant (cassis), sandalwood and nutmeg. A lovely blend of rich tannins, perfect balance of sweet rich fruits meet sophisticated flavours. Smoked perfectly for a higher standard of bold red tastes. Medium legs and long finish. Perfect timing w steak and sweet potato
January 10, 2021 - Nice, a bit thin. But that judgement is partly due to it's company. I had this, and a 2008 Colgin Syrah, with an Italian dinner of Chicken/Tomato/Pasta. The Colgin was superb (at $200) so the supertuscan (at $40) didnt really have a shot. In any case, the tuscan was quaffable.
TLDR: drinkable, not too memorable.
July 25, 2020 - Very nice super tuscan. I am beginning to realize that with few exceptions, it is the super tuscan italian reds that I like.
July 2, 2020 - Better than my last bottle. Drinkable, but certainly not memorable. Certainly not worth $40.
June 6, 2020 - Deep dark red color. Bordeauxian blend. Smell of dark berries, blackberry, cherry, licorice, almond and vanilla. Balanced and long finish. Love this wine.
June 2, 2020 - Just starting to blossom, would still benefit from another 5 years.
April 23, 2020 - Good, not great wine. Not worth the $40, but at least it is drinkable.
March 13, 2020 - Very different experience than a few months ago. Garnet color and quote young. I like the acidity. Drink much more smoothly after 8 hours slow ox.
