October 6, 2020 - Just great. Right out of the bottle. Perfect balance. Sadly my last bottle I fear.
March 22, 2020 - drinking well now. on day 2 it really has a nice lightness to it.
January 22, 2017 - Served with grilled pork tenderloin. The plum colored Pinot opened nicely although it was somewhat one dimensional. In fairness the bottle I had was the Taverna so I may have mis-categorized the wine.
December 10, 2016 - Cherry and earth on the nose. Close to medium bodied. Nice red cherry notes upfront, backed with some hints of blackfruit, tart red cherry and cranberry. Solid, but pretty basic mix for a fruit profile. Adds a bit of acidity, light spice notes and some mineral qualities on the finish. Overall, as easy drinking pinot noir with just enough structure to make it interesting, but for the money, there are similar wines of superior complexity available. This is designed to be drunk upon release and should be drunk in the next year or so before it starts to decline.
November 26, 2016 - Bright color. Nose: violet, flower bed (earth) cranberry and bright cherry. Maybe a hint of oak peeking through underneath. Cranberry really coming through in the front end of the palate. Med bodied wine. Tasty. Long finish, great acidity. Probably has a couple more years left in the tank.
October 28, 2016 - Tour du Monde (Chevalier Fine Wines - Chicago IL): Tasting, brief note. Very simple, fruit slightly too sweet and one-dimensional. I usually like Ponzi Pinot Noir more.
July 26, 2016 - This is an excellent wine. Nice fruit including raspberry along with cinnamon taste. Very nice finish.

February 27, 2016 - Cherry and cranberry, cinnamon toast spice. Took a bit of time to open up. It's good, but overrated, especially at the $30-40 range. I liked the Tavola a lot more. Might get better with a little more time.
February 12, 2016 - Medium red color. Sweet dark cherry nose, with some oak spice and indistinct herbaceous notes. On arrival, low-medium tannin and balanced acidity. Easy drinking, supple with good energy. From our neighbor's collection, a back up bottle for a flawed Cornas. Thanks DoriAnne.
