January 20, 2024 - Every now and then you open and wine and from the nose of it your get struck with the question “ why didn’t I buy those 3 bottles the other day?” And this is definitely one of those.
Originally when we tried this a few years back ( Papies 94-95) this was the shy version of the mesmerising 2000 ( Papies 98) . But on this day and at this time this is now fully blossomed and it will challenge the 2000 in a few years.
The nose is exceptional, soft herbs de Provence, lovely dark fruit, ever so elegant and harmonious. Really impressive and frankly a true Hommage of a wine. Easy 96 and maybe more , some decanting advisable and this has another 20 easy years of beauty.

December 12, 2023 - Dark red. Lots of tire shop and black fruit, very concentrated and serious nose. The flavours too seem so deep and textured, black fruit, pepper and beef broth. Very dry long warm finish.

Not the wine others have noted. I am confused. Not fun to drink.

July 13, 2023 - Second bottle. Better in the first one before.
It’s powerful, fruity and concentrated wine that with the nose of red fruit, bacon fat and peppery.
A bottle that not to be missed out if you are a lover of powerhouse.

March 3, 2023 - Scarlet garnet color. Red candy nose…maybe a bit of juicy cherries. Round full mouth, mid/back tongue earthy, balanced tannins.

February 14, 2023 - A true gem in the world of Grenache, the wine is simply great! Concentrated, lush, powerful, spicy, and vibrant, with layer after layer of peppery, red fruits that seem to never end. Drink from 2023-2045.

December 9, 2022 - I didn't really get much time with this and possible the second bottle was better but this felt a little overdone to me tonight, showing some heat and varnish that just put me off. Have had much better bottles. B-?

December 6, 2022 - Salon Focofi Paris walkabout and dinner, so no detailed tasting notes. From Jero. This was very aromatic with meaty, farmyard funk, dark fruit aromas. Brooding.

October 22, 2022 - 2001 Beaucastel Hommage a Jacques Perrin. Immediate rich smoky nose. Rich, almost stewed fruit and mesquite BBQ palate. Hoisin sauce. The wine evolved to more tertiary leather and cigar box by the last glass. If tasted blind I would have thought 30 or 40 year old Bordeaux. A bit too evolved for my style but drink now with no decant. Not as ethereal as the stupendous 1998 but scored 95/100.
