February 10, 2024 - Deep ruby red. Lovely nose with savory herbs, black fruits, black cherries and spices. Heavy mountain tannins (8/10) and full bodied. Well integrated palate with blueberries, bramble, cherries, a bit of woodiness and dark soil. Balanced acidity and great structure. Nice texture with a long finish. Drink till 2042.

August 24, 2022 - Tasted at the winery. Slow ox in bottle for a few hours. Still surprisingly structured given the bottle age, with notes of blackcurrant, hints of eucalyptus, and not so subtle black tea leaves, which for me might be the signature of Howell mountain? In any case it was really delicious and the 16 is just on its heels.
