February 7, 2024 - 2010 Barolos at Terra Rossa with NLWTS (Terra Rossa, Upper Street): Ruby. Such a pronounced, vibrant red-fruited nose. Sweetly spiced. Tannins astonishingly well rounded as is the wine as a whole; difficult to grab hold of or isolate any particular element! Really a pretty unique experience for me. Deteriorated somewhat in the glass; the ‘gloss’ wore away and it tasted harsher and harsher. No idea why; I initially gave it a 95.

February 7, 2024 - 2010 Barolo (Terra Rossa, N1): Fresh, vibrant red fruit. Super clean and energetic with hints of toasted spices accentuating the primary fruit. So aromatic and joyful, albeit with a sense of restraint. It gives the impression that Burlotto has taken pure Nebbiolo fruit of exceptional quality and done as little as possible to mess around with it. Stylistically it's like the best Langhe Nebbiolo you've ever had. Yum!

August 28, 2021 - Drinking very well after several hours of air. Excellent balance, lovely fruit with earth and rose petal on the nose.

November 27, 2020 - Zalto Burgundy glass. Half the bottle poured into half-bottle, the other half leaft to breathe for six hours. Wonderful harmonious nose with great presence and notes of tar, black fruits, medicine and dust. Quite a lot of alcohol (I prefer it at 13 to 15 degrees) and some tannin. Easy to drink now as Barolo goes but presumably with a long future.

May 16, 2020 - Nose with sweet tones and minerality: iron. Good palate, structure and grip acidity. Alcohol sharp finish. Okay but not a winner now. Will be better in 5-10 years time.
