February 25, 2020 - Smokey, earthy, but there’s some fruit there too. I don’t mind this style at all. Drinking well now.

March 16, 2019 - The nose was tight open opening, but did eventually offer pretty red fruit scents.

The wine was pretty tight on first tasting. The cooler vintage shows with a healthy amount of flint, graphite, and green earthiness. The fruit struggled to peek through, but what was there was obviously clean and refined.

After being open for a day, the wine relaxed and a bit more fruit shone through. There was also a pinch of smoke.

This is definitely Bordeaux for those who enjoy them on the rustic side.

October 13, 2018 - Beautiful black cherry colour with a deep center. Long slim legs. Black cherry, black and red currants, charcoal and light roasted herbs on the nose. Medium bodied with lean fruit on the palate with more black and red crunchy fruits. Brisk acidity. Quite fresh actually. No noticeable tannins on the medium finish. More of a savoury meaty note comes on with time. Will effortlessly play a great supporting and complementary role with simply prepared grilled red meat.

January 30, 2018 - IMW Bordeaux Tasting - 2013 Vintage (Hyatt, San Francisco): Slightly burnt (heavy toast or reduction?). Thin but has a hint of black cherry, blackberry, and black currant. Lean.
