June 2, 2022 - 2nd bottle not as good
February 7, 2022 - Got no love on either of my bottles of this.
Muddy, over-grenached.
June 29, 2020 - Disjointed and undrinkable on PnP. Checked back two days later and it had settled down to be palatable, but uninspiring.
September 16, 2018 - This is showing its age but still good. The syrah character is weakening over time; at opening it was in full force, then dissipated. Drink up.
April 23, 2018 - Think I waited too long, the syrah is completed dominated by the candied grenache. Snooze you looze.
August 8, 2017 - Deep garnet red. A touch dirty on the attack of the nose with some plums. With some air gained some more complexity with forest floor and sweet spices. Medium tannins (6/10) and medium to medium plus bodied. Needed a little air to open up. Savory on the palate with black pepper, dark berries, toasty, and some dark gravel. More dark berries on day two. A touch of heat in the long finish, but smoothed out. Drink till 2022.
May 29, 2017 - On the savory side of syrah. Very well done from the money.
May 24, 2017 - Slo ox 2 hours.
Nice complex dark fruit and pepper if a bit of heat on the nose.
Concentrated dark berry and pepper with a rocks funk in good proportion. Again, hot.
Loved this, actually. Killer qpr, 91+ tonight.
My first, I'll likely drink the rest in 1-3 years.
December 29, 2016 - Wow - complete surprise out of left field. Full on funky Rocks Syrah + 30% Den Hoed grenache = home run. This is the type of juice that puts WA Syrah over the top. Earthy, olive, smoke and definitely not down the middle. Have one more bottle that I will let rest a few more years (if I can resist).
August 6, 2016 - Very young... drink later
