August 18, 2019 - This wine has matured quite a bit. Now fully mature. Very atypical Pinot Noir, with dark colour and high alcohol. What first comes to attention is a plummy, very mature flavour, followed by blackberry, raspberry, lots of spices, some hints of cocoa and minerals. This drink more like a Syrah than a Pinot Noir. Some oaky hints on the finish and a very ripe feeling. Slightly oxidative. Tannins pretty mellow. A very interesting experience. Needs food. Seems fully mature by now, probably time to drink up soon.

June 27, 2015 - Along with the 2011 Cabernet Franc-Merlot blend, this is the only Chamlıja wine I fail to comprehend. Still very assertive and unapproachable for my palate. Will wait until the tannins mellow and the aromas and flavours evolve into a more refined and limpid stage.

May 30, 2015 - Clear, deep ruby with legs.
Clean, med intense aromas of violet, cherry, fennel, dill, liquorice. Youthful.
Dry, med(+) acid, med tannins, alcohol & body. Med intense flavors of red apple, prune. Med finish.
Very good wine.
Drink now, but has potential to age further. -

December 30, 2014 - Medium to deep ruby red colour. Dark cherry, plum, ginger and crushed berry notes. The palate is rather full with sweet fruit and supple texture, nice fruit and spicy finish.

November 19, 2014 - A very atypical Pinot Noir with very dark, crimson colour. The nose also has a darker fruit profile than typical Pinot Noir, with elements of blackberry, cherry liqueur, pencil shaving and crushed rocks. It feels very big and bold but at the same time has a balanced palate with very good concentration and a solid core of dark and red fruit and hints of coffee. The 15% alcohol are integrated. Definitely a good wine. Reminds more of a Rhône blend than a Pinot Noir. Needs at least 2-3 years for the tannins to smoothen and become tamed. My rating reflects the fact that this wine has not yet reached its peak, so I suppose the rating could be upgraded in the future.
