  November 4, 2023 - Wine dinner for a great charity (Samish Hill, Bellingham, WA): What a pleasant surprise! I was hoping this would be interesting and drinkable. It was so much more! The color was more translucent ruby than amber. The wine was not merely alive, but proudly carrying fresh red fruit and rose in addition to tertiary notes of leather, mushrooms, moist earth. Light bodied and delicious. Benefited from a long decant.

  January 12, 2019 - Decanted over three hours. The nose was savory with tar and mushrooms but plenty of bright fruit and roses as well. The palate was full and bright though it thinned a bit over time. Really, really nice. Drunk with a bowl of Furlough Pintos.

  December 18, 2018 - Cork tight and came out in one piece with some coaxing. Acidity and tannins still present, garnet color with obvious fading at the edges. Good structure. A bit a of porcini at first with nice fruit. After thirty minutes opened the fruit was prominent with strawberries and raspberries, mushroom tones faded away. Pretty amazing how well it held together. Drank over two hours. It never faded. The fruit was front and center till we finished it, and the structure held together. Wish I had more.

  June 26, 2017 - A nice surprise (purchased from Chambers St last year). Cork in good condition and came out easily.
  
  Beautiful nose of porcini mushrooms and with a bit of fruit still remaining. A bit weak on the midpalate, but overall a beautiful wine and a great value for the price paid.
