November 24, 2019 - Wow, is this wine special. Drinking beautifully with plenty of life left to it. Sweet fruits, pear, a little apple, and maybe kiwi? Beautiful mouthfeel, great match for spinach salad w Gorgonzola, nuts, and apple.

September 30, 2018 - I was fortunate enough to taste this wine with Erni Loosen at a lunch in London courtesy of Bordeaux Index. The wine has spice, as the name would suggest, with sweet aromas and flavours of peach, apricot, orange but with a wonderful acidity which balances this medium sweet wine out. Erni’s says his Granddad said it was “A wine to drink to stay sober”. I’ll have to take his word for that as this was the the eighth wine I tasted after a long and fascinating lunch with Erni.

September 17, 2017 - Prior bottle was a bit over fourth months ago and this wine continues to show quite well, with a long life ahead. Peach on the nose with pear and golden apple as well. Medium bodied with good density and richness, balanced with very nice acidity. Opened at 50F, warming to 54F and the acidity actually became more and more noticeable the warmer it got. Peach and golden apple upfront, golden pear behind and outstanding contrasting notes of lemon, white cherry and green apple. Tropical notes (orange, pineapple) are starting to creep into the back, but are well balanced by the acidity. Finishes with acidity, mineral qualities and lingering floral notes. Based on where the acidity is today, this wine has many years in front of it. The fruit complexity, coupled with this acidity makes it a lot of fun to drink now, but will reward patience as well.
