January 3, 2022 - Purchased in Bordeaux in the summer and drunk for Xmas 2021. No formal notes. Mid red. On opening there is cassis, graphite. Quite fresh, and with air it settles and more secondary / green characters emerge. Pleasant, attractive Bordeaux, ready to drink now.

December 29, 2021 - This was more reminiscent of Cabernet Franc than Cabernet Sauvignon, with a hint of toffee on the nose and a green, leafy element on the palate. It is rather dilute and is not holding up well. The previous bottles were better, so either this is a rogue one or the wine is going downhill already. A disappointment.

September 21, 2021 - Soft and elegant, with creamy blackcurrant fruit. This is attractive now, and probably as good as it will ever be.

April 17, 2021 - Quite a youthful colour, with a touch of purple; soft, accessible blackcurrant fruit, medium weight and quite elegant. Attractive, easy going wine with food, but a bit astringent on its own. Should keep for a while.

March 30, 2021 - An extremely difficult vintage in bordeaux in general. The nose is quite flat but there are no "green peppers" on the nose. Wine is good to drink now and will not get much better when kept. The chateau owners recommended to have Monkfish as a food pairing. A solid attempt by the Barton family for the 2013 vintage.
