August 24, 2023 - Purchased this not long after the wine received a great review in 1998 by RP. On the nose, med+ raspberry, raspberry candy, some smoke and a hint of dried strawberries. These follow through in the mouth with medium body, good acid/fruit balance, a memory of tannin and a medium intensity, med+ long finish. Paired well with take out roast chicken and duck confit :)

March 20, 2015 - 10 year Tasting of 2005 Vintage (Bronte, Sydney): deep red, softening rim with a hint of brick.
rich earthy fruit, black pepper, game, leather, licorice. an alluringly complex fragrance.
soft creamy texture, richly fruited with lovely complex characters from leather, earth and ink. hints of blueberry and black pepper add complexity. tannins are good but soft and furry. a delicious old shiraz

December 23, 2014 - i was enraptured by this wine. Other tasters noted the dark berry fruits and pepper spice and the fact that this wine has held up amazingly twenty years in. I am always appreciate of these kinds of Australian wines with reasonable price points that seem to last forever and provide ongoing, enjoyable tasting experiences. This wine was surprising in that the approach to wine making was totally "old world" despite its "new world" origin.

December 21, 2013 - Mark called Australia quickly, but no one got producer (to be fair, no one knew producer even after revealing). Peppery, ripe but not overripe, dark fruits. B

December 13, 2013 - This was really good. Decanted for about an hour. Colour has faded to dark, brownish red, but its got a lovely tobacco, cedar and dark fruit nose with some black fruit. It's lovely and smooth, black cherry flavours, but still with some bite and acidity. It's held up really well over 18 years. Shame I only had one bottle.
