September 11, 2017 - So this was a nice surprise...another one of my forgotten bottles. Purchased at Groezinger's in Napa a few years back, really liked it at the time, this one got mixed up with some other bottles. PnP, drank over 2 hours

Nice purple/magenta core, some mild separation at the edges. Nose very expressive right out of the chute, red fruits, baking spice, brown sugar. Palate was bright red/brambly fruits, blackberry pie, spice, black pepper. Great secondary notes, slightly sweet (in a good way) through the mid palate. I understand this is grown at elevation and the vintner (from memory) was at Mt Veeder at one point, stylistically it shows.

Drinking really nicely now, brings back the memory of why I liked it so much when I first had it several years back. This is aging nicely but still bright and fresh. Should go for a while if wanting to cellar, but really nice now. I paid $30 when purchased...Score higher as this beat expectations, great CA Zin..

    RQP ****
    Bon dès maintenant. À boire d'ici 2018.
