July 28, 2023 - Three years has not made a difference to the wine. Still an overpriced glugger.
May 3, 2022 - I was interested to read my previous tasting note of this, picking up a herbal tinge which I get again here. Largely consistent with that now, but lacking since vibrance.
May 31, 2021 - This continues to improve. Far superior than 2 years ago. Nose of berries and cedar with a herbal tinge, palate displays a lovely thread of berry fruit, a medium finish. Day 2 and 3, this rounds out with chocolate now, but loses some vibrancy.
March 18, 2021 - Leather, plum, slightly green notes. Better on the 2nd day, which suggests it could improve with time, but not for the long haul. Rustic palate, lacking complexity but pretty decent. I wouldn't consider the QPR fantastic, though. Agree with the other reviews - a daily drinker.
July 27, 2020 - Consistent with previous tasting note
May 30, 2020 - Last tasted 18 months ago it's rougher edges have calmed down, but it is never going to be anything but a decent every day guzzler. It is probably worth opening it a few hours in advance, but there is no real benefit in decanting the wine.
April 12, 2020 - By far the best bottle of this so far. Previous bottles have been relatively closed down. This by comparison is really starting to open up. Rich type dark fruits and done tertiary development. I expect there is more improvement to be had, but is drinking nicely now.
October 1, 2019 - As per previous notes, this is a good everyday drinker. It drinks straight from the bottle, and is probably a wine to be consumed young. It is very rustic on the palate, but with decent balance, if lacking on depth and finish.
March 22, 2019 - This seems to have put a bit of weight on. More structure. It's still a bit rustic which decanter time seems to sooth. I think this is as good as it's going get though.
March 2, 2019 - Second time of tasting, I decanted this for a few hours rather than pop and pouring the last time out. To be honest it didn't really make a great difference. It is a perfectly pleasant every day rustic drinker and until recently the estate was good value for money. It is a wine to be enjoyed at a younger age, but what you get now is as good as it gets.
