March 24, 2023 - Dinner with LD and BC. From magnum. Perhaps lacks the ripeness and density of a more solar D'Angerville, but still a classy wine. Not green.
February 3, 2018 - ASV gala. Like the slightly green aromas, but not the hard edge and thinness that comes with it.
January 29, 2018 - I am finding the ‘04’s aging in an interesting manner. The greenness is receding. The fruit is maturing yet there is a toughness that keeps the wines from being complete. This wine fits the bill. Lots of red fruits. A bit of menthol. Rough and a thin coating of tannin. Missing depth on the finish and a bit rustic. Will never be special but good wine. To drink not ponder. (88)
December 16, 2016 - See previous notes. Served alongside 02 Ducs and it held its own even though the 02 was spectacular
December 5, 2016 - Surprisingly good for the vintage. A food wine.
February 20, 2016 - Beautiful showing. Double decanted for several hours. Plenty of life
September 7, 2015 - PopnPour, tasted over 3 hrs
-nearly semi-translucent dark red, mild bricking
-exuberant leafy stemmy dried cherry mature elements
-med acidity creeps in late, med- weight with quite sappy earthy leafy herbal dried cherry, bitter streak in mildly dried out tannins, good length
-this has some '04-ness to it and the tannins are a bit more dried out than they should be but overall it is quite pleasant now and in a sweet spot of early maturity, the tannins make me think this is not going to get much better
August 1, 2015 - Purple plum in color. Nose of cherry and earth. Cherry, earth and licorice on the palate. No greenness nor tannin, but a harsh quality going down.
June 30, 2015 - I have always liked this wine. Really drinking well tonight. Tell-tale sweet red cherry fruit and minerals. No green. A balanced, middle weight wine that has plenty going for it. A real treat considering the vintage. Nice to have some burgundy after the Syrah / Grenache binge of ’15 summer. (91)
March 20, 2015 - Good fruit for an 04. Drink soon while fruit still lively.
